5th Annual City Kidz Got Skillz event coming November 11, 2011!

For over 30 years serving thousands of at-risk youth and families in Greater Bridgeport, GBAPP is excited to announce the 5^th Annual City Kidz Got Skillz event taking place this November 11^th, 2011 in Downtown Bridgeport. The event will showcase the visual and performing talents of youth age 18 and under, with cash prizes awarded to contest winners. City Kidz Got Skillz is an annual youth-led teen talent show and art exhibit. In encouraging kids to use their creativity, thus building self-esteem and productive use of time, GBAPP helps to build a healthier community. GBAPP’s overall goal with this event is to inspire kids to work to succeed. By providing a stage to perform and having a chance to win cash awards, City Kidz Got Skillz can be a positive catalyst to help keep kidz on track to both academic and artistic achievement. We want as many kidz as possible to have an opportunity to participate in this event as artists, performers, or audience members.

Calling for 2011 Talent (FLYER – 2011 call for talent) Are you an artist or performer enrolled in school and 18 years or younger? Art theme is “Community Treasurers” – photos, painting, drawing, graphic arts, and poetry all qualify to help celebrate Bridgeport’s 175th Anniversary. Talent showcase with dancing, singing, spoken word, and more! $CASH PRIZES$ for top winners.
Contest Entry Form (Contest Entry Form – 2011) Must be mailed or dropped off at GBAPP (158 Mill Hill Avenue, Bpt) by Friday, November 4th by 3:00 PM. One entry form per person (teams must have all forms from performers and coaches included in a pack). Talent Show – accepting talent performers first come, first serve until all 25 slots are filled. Art Show – no limit on number of entries, however only one Art piece per person accepted.
